<p>Textile GRS testing and certification is applicable to companies that have a statement describing the content of recycled raw materials in their ultimate products. At present, the certification standards established by recycled fibers are more commonly used. </p><p> </p><p><strong>GRS certification must comply with four principles:</strong></p><p>GRS production management system,</p><p>Social responsibility,</p><p>Environmental protection,</p><p>Chemical use.</p><p> </p><p>The GRS is designated for the needs in the textile industry to check recycled products or certain specific products. What's more important is to let retailers and consumers understand which parts of a particular product are recycled materials and how to handle these materials in the supply chain.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>GRS certification principles:</strong></p><p>The GRS standard applies to products with a recycled content of 20% or more. Certain exceptions may be applicable. Please refer to the certification procedures reviewed by the Textile Exchange for information on concessions, as well as applicable to any recycled materials that have been accepted and applicable to any supply chain.</p><p> </p><p><strong>What are the requirements for GRS certification in the </strong><a href="https://www.gesterinstruments.com/textile-testing-equipment" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>textile testing instruments</strong></a><strong> and apparel industry?</strong></p><p>To apply for GRS certification, it must meet the five requirements of traceability (Tarceability), environmental protection (Environmental), social responsibility (Social), label and general principles (General).</p><p> </p><p><strong>(A) Retrospective criteria</strong></p><p>1: Guidelines and regulations related to product transportation and the use of certificates</p><p>2: Guidelines on the control of purchased products</p><p>3: Guidelines on management</p><p>4: Guidelines on quality control</p><p>5: Calculate the quantity ratio between GRS materials and non-GRS materials and related criteria using the total balance calculation method</p><p> </p><p><strong>(B) Environmental guidelines</strong></p><p>Guidelines on environmental management</p><p>1: The certified company must have an environmental policy manual</p><p>2: The certified company must conduct a comprehensive archive of chemicals, energy, water consumption and wastewater treatment. Including the treatment of wastewater sediment</p><p>3: Waste water that has not undergone wastewater treatment shall not be discharged, and the following treatment methods can be adopted:</p><p>In-house wastewater treatment or wastewater treatment by local authorities</p><p>4: The wastewater does not contain any additives, and should be cooled below 40°C/104F before it can be discharged</p><p>5: Wastewater with a PH value of less than 6 and greater than 9, should be neutralized until it is between the above limits</p><p> </p><p><strong>(C) Social norms</strong></p><p>It is applicable to any link of the certification chain and starts at the waste collection station. This also means that the suppliers of waste products are not yet in the scope of certification.
