In this process, raw water passes through a system that removes impurities, usually called RO.

The industrial reverse osmosis system has a cutting-edge designed membrane to remove impurities without the use of chemicals, resins or ion exchange beds.

Raw water or town water refers to water that has not been treated or removed any elements/minerals. The water enters the reverse osmosis system through a crushing tank or tap water. Depending on your geographic location, the quality of the incoming water will vary.

Unlike other filtration systems that operate on low-pressure water systems, RO requires the use of high-pressure pumps to drive water through the membrane. This is because it can remove more impurities than other filtering options.

The RO process improves the purity and quality of influent water by reducing micro Siemens and total dissolved solids (TDS).

Reverse osmosis: industrial and commercial applications

The filtered water obtained through the reverse osmosis (RO) process has many applications in countless industries, and may help cut costs at any stage of industrial or commercial production for multiple purposes. Since the differences between commercial and industrial systems are sometimes negligible, reverse osmosis usually has common ground between commercial and industrial applications.

Reverse osmosis (RO) filtered water is not only used to provide safe drinking water for people who have no easy access to fresh water-at least not anymore. Even with salt water, the water produced by these huge reverse osmosis (RO) may have better membranes and better reverse osmosis (RO) practices, with the potential for reuse and recycling. Even industries such as wastewater management and recycling plants have seen the benefits of filtering wastewater and using wastewater in general.

Which industries can RO be used for?

Water is needed in most manufacturing applications. Water can be used to clean other machinery, process parts, produce consumables, wash packaging before inserting products, etc.

RO can be used in the following areas:

Automobile industry

Food and beverage

aerospace

Pharmaceutical Industry

agriculture

finishing

industry

How to maintain industrial reverse osmosis system?

Proper maintenance of pretreatment equipment can optimize the operation of the reverse osmosis purification system.

1) For the sand filter and activated carbon filter in the pretreatment, the backwash time depends on the quality of the raw water. If the raw water is clean tap water, the regular backwash time is about one week. If the feed water is ground water, or river water and well water, the cycle is about 3 days. The backwashing process can ensure that the sludge, impurities and particles accumulated in the pretreatment equipment can be discharged in time.

2) In order to ensure the quality of the inlet water of the RO device, when the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet water exceeds 0.06 Mpa, the filter element of the safety filter must be replaced. The replacement period of the filter element depends on the quality of the incoming water, and the average replacement period is 2-3 months.

3) To soften the resin tank, avoid direct sunlight.

The correct maintenance of the reverse osmosis system will affect the effluent quality of the purification system.

1) All operating parameters of RO equipment must be routinely recorded. It is recommended to record every 2 hours.

2) RO membrane elements need to be cleaned regularly. The deposits on the surface of the reverse osmosis membrane will affect the permeability of the membrane. For different reasons, an equivalent cleaning measurement method can be used according to the chemical cleaning method of the reverse osmosis membrane.

Regardless of the following situations, the membrane elements should be cleaned: the normal output flow is reduced by 10%; the salt content in water production is significantly increased; compared with the initial operating time, each pressure difference of the RO equipment will increase by 15% or 35kPa. Confirm that there is contamination or fouling; even if the pressure difference does not increase by 15%, it has been running for 3 to 4 months; because it takes a long time to stop the operation, clean it before stopping the operation.

3) Routinely check the conductivity meter, various pressure gauges and PLC system to keep the RO system running normally.

4) Regularly check the raw water pump and high-pressure pump, and replace the lubricant in time according to the maintenance manual.
