The top of the applicator is coated with short nylon fibers, which are arranged in a vertical manner. This vertical alignment is caused by a process called flocking, in which fibers are sprayed onto the tip of the <a href="https://www.cleanmo.com/cleanmo-s-flocked-swabs" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">swab</a> while the fiber is held in an electrostatic field. This method produces a highly absorbent thin layer with an open structure.</p><p><br></p><p>Cleanmo's <a href="https://www.cleanmo.com/cleanmo-s-flocked-swabs" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>flocked swabs</strong></a> have vertical nylon fibers to optimize specimen collection and elution into the transport medium. The swab also has molded breakpoints that allow you to pull out the swab safely and easily, and there are several breakpoint options available for different test tubes. Unlike traditional fiber swabs (similar to mattresses or cushions), Cleanmo's flocked cotton swabs do not have an internal absorbent core to disperse and wrap samples. The entire sample is kept near the surface to achieve fast and complete elution. Vertical nylon fibers are used as soft brushes to improve the collection of cell samples. The capillary action between the fiber bundles contributes to the strong hydraulic absorption of the liquid sample, and the sample stays close to the surface and is easy to elute.</p>
