<p>Methods to extend the life of <a href="https://www.lepu<a href="" target="_blank">seal</a>.com/" target="_blank">mechanical</a> seals</p><p><br></p><p><strong>1. End face slotting</strong>:</p><p>It is difficult for high-pressure and high-speed machinery to maintain the liquid film between the friction surfaces. The liquid film is often damaged by the frictional heat generated by the high pressure and high speed. In this case, it is effective to strengthen the lubrication by taking the form of slot. Both dynamic and static rings can be slotted, and they are generally made on more wear-resistant materials. The moving ring and the static ring should not be slotted at the same time, because this will reduce the lubrication effect. In order to prevent dirt or abrasive debris from entering the friction surface as much as possible, the liquid should flow in the direction of centrifugal force (outflow type). The groove should be opened on a static ring to prevent the centrifugal force from introducing dirt into the friction surface. Conversely, when the liquid flows in the direction of the centrifugal force (internal flow), the groove should be opened on the moving ring. The centrifugal force helps to throw the dirt out of the groove.</p><p>The small grooves on the friction surface are rectangular, wedge-shaped, or other shapes. The groove should not be too much or too deep,or leakage will increase.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>2.Pressure lubrication</strong>:</p><p>The so-called static pressure lubrication is to introduce a lubricating liquid under pressure directly into the friction surface to perform lubrication. The introduced lubricating liquid is supplied from a separate liquid source, such as a hydraulic pump. With this pressure lubricating fluid is opposed to the fluid pressure in the machine, this form is also commonly known as hydrostatic seal.</p><p><br></p><p>Measures should be taken to establish gas film lubrication for mechanical seals in gaseous media. For example, if a gas static pressure controlled film mechanical seal or solid lubrication is used, a self-lubricating material is used as the moving ring or static ring. As long as the conditions permit, the gas medium condition should be converted to the liquid medium condition as much as possible, so that it is easy to lubricate and easy to<a href="" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> seal</a>.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>3. Sided eccentricity</strong>:</p><p>In general <a href="" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">mechanical</a> seals, the center of the moving ring, the center of the static ring, and the center-line of the shaft are all on a straight line. If the center of the end face of a ring in the dynamic or static ring is offset from the center-line of the shaft by a certain distance , Can make the ring continuously bring in the lubricating liquid to the sliding surface to play a lubrication role during rotation.</p><p><br></p><p>It should be pointed out that the eccentric dimension should not be too large, especially for high pressure, the eccentricity will cause uneven pressure on the end face and cause uneven wear.
